A great day today for the Blues against a team much improved since our last fixture. The Blacks started the game on the attack, with a shot on goal just wide. Max Abbott intercepted a Black ball, passing to Jude Mercer who took a shot on target, saved by their keeper. Undeterred, Jude took a second shot, to be met by another save from the Pendle Forest keeper. Great defending from Nathan Allan, on two occasions, gained possession, passing to Jude, who headed the ball to Bailey Coupland. Bailey set off on another of his great runs up-field, but was closed down by the Black’s defence.

Again, intercepting the ball, Max made a great pass to James Dean who shot just wide of the post.

Seconds later, a powerful goal kick from Ollie Barker, was met by Nathan, who took a great run on goal, but was closed down by the much improved Pendle Forest defence. Seizing the opportunity, Max again intercepted and made a skilful pass to James who scored the first goal for the Blues.

A pass from Jude to Bailey saw Bailey take another run on goal, only to be stopped in his tracks again by the Blacks. A superb clearance to James from Will Sledding, set James up with another chance to score again, but unluckily the ball skimmed the post. Undeterred, the Blues continued their pursuit for glory- when Thomas took a fantastic shot on goal, which skimmed over the crossbar. Jack McBride, regained possession for the Blues and took a great shot, saved by the Black’s keeper. Still on the attack, Jude took a volley shot, but again the keeper saved it. The Black’s took advantage of the goal kick taking a run up field, to be met by a clearance from Luke Hutton, and again by Jack. Still defending brilliantly, a Black corner was headed by Thomas, then cleared by Will, keeping the score line stable. From another Black corner, Nathan took control of the ball passing to Luke who took shot, just wide.

Half Time score 0-1.

The Blues started the second half on the attack. A shot from Jack on goal, went just wide and Will blocked a Black’s attempt to regain possession. A powerful shot by Bailey was saved by the Black’s keeper, and on the rebound, Jude hit the post. Undeterred, Bailey took another shot, scoring the second goal for the Blues. Again, putting the Pendle Forest team under pressure, Max took a shot, saved by the opposition keeper, Thomas cleared the goal kick, and persistent, Max kept great control of the ball, scoring the third goal of the game. A shot from Jude was saved by the keeper, and on the rebound, a shot from James was saved too. Will blocked any attempt by the Blacks to pose any threat and then Jude scored the fourth goal of the match. Blues goalie Ollie was briefly put to the test again, punching out a shot, then, making a great save. Then fantastic passing from Bailey to Jude, to James, set James up to score the fifth goal.

Full time score 0-5 to the Blues. A fantastic team effort again lads- and a well earned win.
